Driftwood Desk

A reception desk combining a liquid-metal aesthetic with a warm wooden top, creating the impression of driftwood floating over a reflective surface.

Artist Statement

Driftwood Desk explores the dialogue between fluidity and structure. The mirrored stainless-steel legs behave like moving water caught mid-flow, while the wooden top carries the quiet history of natural material shaped by time. This contrast invites the viewer to experience both motion and stillness in a single functional sculpture. The piece embodies the meeting point of nature’s organic erosion and the precision of contemporary metalwork.

1/1 Interior Placement

The desk is ideally suited for luxury reception areas, boutique interiors, galleries, and design-led commercial spaces. Its reflective panels enhance natural and artificial light, amplifying the sense of space. The wooden surface stabilizes the visual dynamics, creating a grounded yet striking focal point. Placement near windows or surfaces with geometric shadows intensifies the interplay between light and the mercury-effect.
