Artist Statement
This work explores pressure and release. A ring of soft shockwaves travels across the steel as if a drop had struck a still pool and frozen the instant of spread. The polished concavities collect the world, stretch it, and send it back as a slow panorama; the dark aperture at the centre holds the eye and resets the gaze before it moves again along the undulating rim. The piece is at once lens and diaphragm—intensifying what surrounds it while keeping a silent, perfectly balanced core.
1/1 Modern Exhibition
Show the sculpture on a low, stable plinth with generous negative space. Backgrounds should be matte and uncluttered so the reflections remain legible. Use soft, grazing light from one side with a gentle fill to carry the relief without burning the highlights. Invite viewers to circle the work at two to three metres so the ring reads as a breathing horizon.
1/2 Renaissance Works
A single ripple becoming a halo, gathering the room into a bright, revolving calm.
