Artist Statement
Liquid Landscape translates natural topography into reflective metal. The work begins as a flat stainless-steel sheet, then undergoes controlled deformations that rise and fall like a terrain shaped by wind or water. Across its surface, peaks and shallow basins scatter reflections into gradients of color—the upper areas echo sky tones, while the lower folds gather warmer hues from the surrounding environment.
This interplay of reflection and relief creates a living, chromatic field. The viewer does not simply look at the sculpture; they enter it. The mirrored surface absorbs the room, bending walls, colors, and movement into a rippling visual geography. Seen from a distance, the piece reads as an abstract landscape; up close, it becomes a dense map of micro-reflections that shift with every step.
The work invites slow observation. Like natural environments, it changes throughout the day as light and position alter its spectral range. Liquid Landscape is both a metallic panorama and a topography of perception.
1/1 Interior Placement
Best displayed on a large, unobstructed wall with soft, even lighting between 3000–4000 K. The broad reflective surface benefits from neutral surroundings, allowing the chromatic gradients to form naturally without color contamination.
1/2 Wall Sculpture Series
Pairs well with other relief-based works—especially pieces in the Waves & Ribbons family—creating a cohesive collection where geometry, reflection, and material flow remain central themes.
