Artist Statement
Mercury Landscape turns reflection into terrain. Across its broad span, micro-undulations fracture the environment into currents and eddies so the panel reads as both seascape and skyline. The lower margin thickens into a heavy lip and a slow drip, compressing time—the moment water is about to fall, held indefinitely in steel. The work does not depict a place; it creates one from the world in front of it, making the viewer, the weather and the room part of the landscape.
1/1 Modern Exhibition
Mount on a flat, matte wall using a concealed sub-frame or continuous French cleat rated for the full weight. Light with soft, even grazing from above or from the long sides (3000–4000 K, high-CRI), avoiding hard hotspots so the ripples read as a continuous field. Give 2–3 m of viewing distance for the landscape to resolve, and keep nearby colors controlled; neutrals let the piece do the painting. Clean only with microfiber and a pH-neutral solution; never abrasives.
