Artist Statement
The Blade explores the tension between raw surroundings and highly refined surfaces. Its mirrored stainless-steel planes act as a visual rupture—slicing through space with sharp geometry while absorbing the colors, textures, and movements around it. The work transforms depending on the viewer’s position, turning reflections of sky, soil, and architecture into shifting abstract forms.
Through this duality—precision within ruggedness—the piece examines how contemporary objects can redefine traditional outdoor environments.
1/1 Installation
The Blade is created as an outdoor-specific work, ideal for:
- large gardens
- sculpture parks
- public or semi-public spaces
- rural or industrial settings
The triangular base (1100×1100×450 mm) stabilizes the 2500 mm height, allowing it to be displayed freestanding on soil, concrete, gravel, or prepared ground.
Lighting from sunrise or sunset enhances the mirror distortions dramatically.
1/2 Relational Works
The Column – large outdoor mirrored structure
The Wedge – indoor-friendly version exploring similar geometry
Columns – variations of vertical mirrored forms
