Transmutation

A sculptural table in mirror-polished stainless steel, where a crisp geometric plane dissolves into a molten leg that pools onto the floor. A study in contrast between controlled form and fluid transformation.

Artist Statement

Transmutation explores the moment when structure becomes liquid. The table begins as a sharply defined stainless-steel surface—flat, reflective, and architectural. At one corner, this precision gives way to a flowing, molten form: the plane bends downward, thickens, and resolves into a single sculptural leg that appears to melt onto the floor.

The work stands at the intersection of sculpture and function. Its top is calm and minimal, while the supporting form behaves like metal caught in transformation. Reflections stretch and scatter across the table’s surface, but at the melting point they swirl into dense, distorted patterns, emphasizing the shift from order to fluidity.

Transmutation anchors a space with quiet drama. Even when used as a functional piece, it reads as a moment frozen in transition—a solid object suspended between two states of being.

1/1 Interior Placement

Ideal as a sculptural centerpiece in living rooms, galleries, hotel suites, and modern interiors. Soft, even lighting at 3000–4000 K highlights the transition from the flat plane to the liquid leg without producing harsh hotspots.

1/2 Functional Sculpture

The work is fully usable as a table yet remains visually dominant. Its reflective top interacts with surrounding furniture and light, making it a natural focal point within any curated interior.
